Man I always wondered if this White Forest Inn was like a town with actual just regular people or for White forest employees owned by whoever runs the white forest silo since it seems just off for such lack of anything. Theres like one gas station, werehouse, the major big Inn wich is clearly hotel like place and few smaller houses wich I dont get how could anybody live in there for daily basis. Hell maybe this whole thing and all the buildings are sorta resting place/resort.

This is definitely a game that you can replay and easily get a completely different experience. With the different personality dialogues, variety of companions, different siblings (based on Hawke's Class) and their different fates, and siding with Mages or Templars - if you enjoyed playing this game once I'd highly recommend playing it again and making different choices. You will definitely not have the same gaming experience.

Regarding the repeating environments, I mentioned this on a previous video, but it makes sense when you remember that this is all a story being told by Varric. In Varric's stories he's more interested in the characters and events, not the locations. You can almost imagine the following dialogue ... Varric: "So Hawke entered a cave ..." Cassandra: "What did it look like?" Varric: "What? I don't know, it was a cave. It looked like any other cave." You can also replace "cave" with "warehouse" in that dialogue.

If Isabela had returned it would've been when Hawke confronted the Arishok at Viscount's Keep - at the end of Act 2. You did meet the qualifications for Isabela to return (by having sex with her), so the fact she didn't is a glitch/bug. The Wiki says this can sometimes happen and you need to use the console to change her settings to make her return, which sucks for first time players of this game who normally wouldn't be looking up so much on the Wiki (to avoid spoilers). Wish the game would have fixed this instead of just relying on people visiting the Wiki to learn how to correct this.

If you side with the Templars then in Varric's final monologue he says that Hawke became Viscount but eventually left Kirkwall.

Meredith gets the idol at the start of Act 2. As bad as things in Kirkwall are for Mages at the start of the game, they get worse as the game goes on, which makes sense considering Meredith gets the idol and it starts affecting her. Pretty sure we're meant to think that she was already bad, but the idol made her worse.

Leliana's cameo at the end was a bigger deal when the game was first released. Those that played it then didn't have the Sebastian DLC or the Mark of the Assassin DLC (because they were released later). So they didn't see Leliana in either of those.

I like how you don't realize where Cassandra is interrogating Varric until the end of the game where she exits the building and you see that it's the Hawke Estate.

I watched another RUclips playthrough where the player said during this battle "The actual city is fighting you."

I laughed when he added an "Enemy: boss or higher > Attack" tactic for Hawke high in his Tactics list. That meant that none of his tactics after that one would ever fire when a boss (like Meredith) is around. Good thing he did that at the end of the game.

In hindsight it's obvious that Meredith has the lyrium idol. Bartrand that he sold it to a woman - what other woman do you know in this game that could buy it? The Grand Cleric? Not likely. And she would have bought it shortly at the start of Act 2, which is when the game tells you that the way Meredith and the Templars treating the Mages starts getting worse, which shows the idol's influence on her.

You missed some more enemies/loot on the other side of the Templar Hall (where Meredith's and Orsino's offices are) by taking the exit to the Gallows Courtyard right after fighting Fenris. I wish the game had given you a "using this exit leads to the final battle - are you sure you want to do this?" prompt.

"I've got to find the Helm of the Champion." You should have gotten this off of Grace's body after she had kidnapped Anders. Either you didn't loot the body, or you did and accidentally sold it, or put it in your storage chest, or just didn't notice it in your Inventory.

"And we find ourselves alone because this good guy just turned?" Orsino didn't *turn* - he decided to use Blood Magic to defend himself. But it overwhelmed him. Orsino has spent the entire game trying to protect the Circle Mages, and now Meredith wants to kill all of them for something they had nothing to do with. He is literally backed into a corner and using the only tool left to defend himself. If you had sided with the Templars then when you confront Orsino here he admits that up until this point he had never used Blood Magic before.

Joe picks his party. Varric: "So, you've got a plan for the rest of us?" I LOL'd here because "the rest of us" is *just* Varric. This reminds me of the RUclips video where someone deliberately played the worst game of DAII where they tried to get all of their companions killed.

I don't know why the game has Isabela still on the Character Selection screen (even "faded") since at this point she is *never* coming back. Leaving her there is misleading to the player - Joe has spent all of Act 3 thinking "I wonder when/if Isabela will come back." At this point Sebastian has been completely removed - the game should have done this with Isabela after Act 2 ended.

Saying "Join me" to Fenris here *can* work if you have any Friendship amount, less-than 50% Rivalry, or 100% Rivalry. Otherwise no matter what you say, Fenris refuses to re-join you.

Joe picks his party, does not include Varric - his only remaining Rogue. Within seconds he finds a chest that he cannot open. Who could have seen that coming? The answer is: anyone playing or watching this game - except Joe, I guess. 😄

Whether you agree with Anders' actions or not, unless Hawke is a Mage, it's not worth it to send him away or kill him. If you do then you'll spend the rest of the game without a Mage that can heal you, having to rely on potions in every battle.

I always laugh when Hawke asks what the others think about Anders' actions and Sebastian says "What if I'd been in the Chantry?", or if you choose not to kill Anders and Sebastian demands that you do or he'll leave forever. Like anyone at this point is a Sebastian fan. There's another RUclips playthrough of this game where the player deliberately makes all the worst decisions, and at this point he laughs and says "Dude, I barely know you." 🤣

Joe: "It didn't have to come to this, Anders. I thought you were the voice of compromise." Me: (spits out drink) "SINCE WHEN?"

Oh well, so much for Fenris. Everyone watching this playthrough who saw how he didn't decide whether to make Fenris a Friend or a Rival until it was too late knew this was going to happen. If you're going to support Mages (not just at the end of the game but throughout the entire game) then include Fenris in the party when you know that doing/saying something pro-Mage will happen and will anger him.

Meredith invoking the Rite of Annulment hits harder if Bethany is still alive and in the Circle. You have to be playing a very evil playthrough to side with Meredith here and say that all the Mages - including your own sister - must be killed.

Well, so much for finishing The Lost Swords quest. Or buying potions/grenades/etc to prepare for the endgame.

(before watching this video) He's just going to do the Blade of Mercy quest? How is this video half an hour long? (after watching the video) Oh right, a bunch of wandering around and visiting every companions' base and needlessly talking to them, even though by this point of the game anyone playing the game should know that if there's no quest in your Journal then your companions won't have anything to say. Time well spent! 🤣

Discussing Thrask's death... "And were it not for one woman, one Mage ... and not even her - like, the Demon that was in her." What? No! Grace killed Thrask because she wanted revenge on Hawke for killing Decimus. She blamed him for his death and her ending up in the Kirkwall Circle. There was no Demon at work here, just revenge. Thrask got in her way of getting her revenge on Hawke, so that's why she killed him. Using Blood Magic doesn't mean you're automatically controlled by a demon. Merrill uses Blood Magic and she's not controlled by a Demon. The player (in this game and Origins) can play as a Mage that uses Blood Magic, and they're not controlled by a demon.

Cullen: "Is there any recommendation you would have me take Meredith, Champion?" It's hilarious that "Kill them all." is an option here. Only recommended for an evil playthrough.

The Templars and Mages you have to fight once Grace attacks you are being controlled by Grace's Blood Magic.

Before this video: "The Templars are pretty bad, but at least we have Thrask. He's a good guy." This episode: "Hold my beer/ale."

No, it's *not* a bug that Anders didn't get an armor upgrade that included a rune slot until this quest. While most companions have 2 armor rune slot upgrades, Anders only has one, and you don't get it until this quest.

You randomly going back into the DeLauncet mansion in this video reminded me - if you had let Emile have sex with a barmaid when you were doing the quest to hunt down the 3 Blood Mages then when you entered the mansion in this video you would have seen that barmaid with the Comte and Comtesse telling them that she was pregnant and asking "When's the wedding?"

If Alistair wasn't king in your Origins save game you imported when you started this game then you don't get this quest (obviously). He can appear as the leader of the Grey Wardens you encounter when the Qunari try to take over the city, or as a drunk in The Hanged Man.

When the clan confronted you about Marethari's death, you chose the right choice. The other two choices result in the entire clan attacking you, forcing you to kill all of them - this means that any quests that require talking to someone in the clan could not be finished, and you lose Varathorn as a merchant. You had already completed all quests that involve talking to someone at the Dalish Camp, but it makes me sad to think that you would have to kill Feynriel's mother, who is only at the Dalish Camp because she asked you to help her son.

Marethari deserves much more of the blame for how Merrill's story turned out than Merrill. For the entire game, every time you saw Marethari, you now know that she was already possessed by the Pride Demon. At any time she could have have told Merrill "the Demon means to possess you, I let it possess me so it wouldn't do that to you, you don't have to continue with this plan and leave the clan" but she didn't. She let Merrill leave the clan and become a pariah to them, knowing that Merrill's plan would never work and would lead to Marethari's death. But she kept it a secret for some unknown reason. Marethari is an idiot.

If you hadn't killed the Keeper when the Pride Demon turned back into Matethari then she would have stabbed Merrill, killing her, turned back into the Pride Demon, and the fight would have continued (with Merrill revived but injured).

Am I crazy or at the 12m point when he was looking at Varathorn's stock and sold all his Junk items, they included 4 Runes of Devastation? He obviously created those when he was in the Hawke Estate - how did he mark them as Junk? Well, that was money down the drain!

Why not take Fenris on the Merrill quest? You've said more than once that you want to increase his Rivalry before the end of the game, and a quest where Merrill is doing stuff is likely to piss him off. SPOILER . . . . . At this point I'm kind of turning into the skid that this end game will likely be when he likely sides with the Mages at the end of the game, and what Fenris does when he does that.

The Primeval Lyruin Rune greatly increases weapon speed (the amount depends on the quality of the weapon it's put in - according to the Wiki 71% has been reported). At this point of the game most party members likely have the weapon they'll use for the rest of the game so it's probably safe to give it to anyone. Varric is the best choice as (a) his weapon never changes, and (b) he already has sustainables and passives that increase his Attack Speed, so this rune would increase it even more. Giving it to a Weapon-and-Shied Warrior would be a waste, since they're all about being a tank and not having quick Attack Speed. Which is why I expect the next video to start with Joe giving this rune to his Hawke. 😄

It actually makes sense to let Varric keep the shard if Bartrand is still alive. Yes, Vartic isn't a Mage but he could find someone to look at the shard and see if it could be used to cure him. This never happens, but it makes sense. If Varric doesn't kill Bartrand when you find him then he spends the rest of the game (and presumably his life) in a sanitarium. Nothing you do changes this.

Whether you let Varric keep the shard or get rid of it, you get a Friendship increase if he's already a Friend, or a Rivalry increase if he's already a Rival. So it doesn't really matter as far as this score. But you already had him at 100% Friendship so it didn't matter. If you had let him keep it then it has no effect on Varric for the rest of the game - he doesn't go crazy or act any differently. Except that it adds 3 weapon rune slots to Bianca which greatly increases his damage output, which, in my opinion, is much more useful than the one Rune you get from Sandal.

At this point you shouldn't be surprised when Fenris speaks out about Mages. If you are then you haven't been paying attention. 😆 If your goal is to increase his Rivalry as much as you can in the time you have left, this is the way to go. Keep him in the party always, and whenever the topic of Mages comes up, speak in favor of them.

If you had chosen to turn Emile in then he would've asked you to let him spend the night with one of the barmaids, which you could have let him do, and leads to a funny response when you ask "how it was".

Unfortunately you're never going to make that Elixir of Heroism that's at your Crafting table. It requires Ambrosia which you can only get in Act 3 in a location that's accessible in Isabela's personal quest, which you can't get since she did not return.

I can't believe you almost missed out on finishing The Lost Swords quest because at first you refused to look in any of the chests in the DeLauncet mansion. Unbelievable!

Some of Joe's thoughts on the DLC after he got back to Kirkwall didn't make sense. He didn't like the puzzles because there wasn't an obvious method to solve them? And the game didn't tell you if you were close to solving them? Welcome to puzzles in video games! Seriously, for 2 of the puzzles there was a painting showing 3 rows of 5 men, and some of them had masks on and some of them didn't, and then there was a set of tiles that was 3 rows of 5 tiles? How hard was this to figure out? And him complaining about Tallis because she was voiced/modeled by Felicia Day and therefore he kept calling her "Felicia"? That's his fault, not the DLC's.
